EXECUTIVE SUMMARY OF NMNTI’s HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

New Millennium Nuclear Technologies’ (NMNT's) Health & Safety Policy is given the highest priority of importance in providing working conditions for all employees that are safe and healthy.  Personal safety at (NMNTI) is a line management responsibility ensuring appropriate supervision, training and personal protection as far as reasonably practicable and possible.

The President of the company is responsible for health and safety in all areas of work and is obligated to provide appropriate provisions to fulfill these Health and Safety policies.    This responsibility extends from Management to Supervisors to all employees and contract workers in achieving the objectives of the Health and Safety Policy and to recognise their own individual responsibilities to safety.  Staff will complete risk assessments and comply with all statutory requirements and regulations.  The company is dedicated to providing a safe working environment and preventing accidents, providing for emergency response to accidents, keeping personnel trained and informed of hazards, and limiting exposure of individuals to radiation at levels that are as low as reasonably achievable according to the ALARA principle.

NMNTI shall ensure that personal protective and monitoring equipment including respirators, safety goggles that will fit over eyeglasses and sunglasses, gloves, protective garments, face shields, hard hats, face shields, thermoluminescent dosimeter badges is provided by customer. Personal safety must be practiced by everyone.  Each individual can carry out NMNTI's policy by being informed; staying alert; following all rules, regulations, and safety procedures, safety documents; and using common sense as the first line of defence against accidents.  Management and supervisors will:

  • provide the leadership and set a personal example encouraging everyone to take an interest in health and safety enthusiastically,
  • formulate suitable provisions, contingencies and plans for emergency situations,
  • identify hazards and risks and ensure that they are recorded and managed,
  • compose safety plans identifying actions and resources establishing and preserving a safe and healthy workplace,
  • maintain, implement and develop in their responsible areas the health and safety management system,
  • issue company statements and documentation of the protocol for managing compliantly the health and safety policy,
  • keep high standards of housekeeping by supplying information and training on health and safety in the workplace and onsite,
  • employ procedures to review and monitor the health and safety provisions and policy,
  • ensure compliance of contractors with NMNTI's health and safety policy, have experienced health and safety personnel to make recommendations
