IONIZING RADIATION POLICY

Radiological Risk Prevention Policy

It is the policy of NMNTI that its activities will be conducted in such a manner that worker and public safety, including protection of the environment, is given the highest priority.  The management of NMNTI is committed in all its activities, to reduce any safety, health, or environmental risks associated with ionizing radiation or radioactive materials to levels that are as low as reasonably achievable ALARA.  Both individual and collective exposures to workers and the general public shall be maintained as far below the appropriate limits as social, technical, economic, practical, and public policy considerations permit.

NMNTI will also: -

  • respect the compliance obligations concerning the protecting of staff from ionizing radiation;
  • continually improve the radiation protection management system.

The policy will be kept up to date in the form of documented information, and communicated to all staff working with ionizing radiation and other parties. The Management at NMNTI is responsible for assuring the policy is understood, implemented, communicated and maintained at all levels.

The Quality Policy provides a framework for establishing and reviewing company objectives, and its continuing suitability is addressed through reviews at the Management Review Meeting on an annual basis. Any additional changes will be addressed through company meetings as applicable and will be modified if necessary.
