Characterization of Jose Cabrera N.P.P Reactor Using TruPro® Technology

NMNTI provided materials and labor, obtaining 275 separate samples including powdered concrete and metal fine powdered samples at depth.  Near real-time (in-situ) volumetric activity concentration data assessed quantitatively by ENRESA’s gamma spectroscopist and facility HPGe detector for site concrete characterization was used in order to redirect sampling resources in real time.

The sampling tools were mobile and field-deployable and the TruPro® methodology selected minimized the cross activity contamination between samples and also minimized the generation of secondary wastes.  By using the TruPro® technology greater certainty in reaching the required depths, and speed of turnaround of results was achieved.
